Bontago

Bontago is a very strange and complex but interesting puzzle/strategy game. This is what theĀ  Game Website says:

The goal of the game is to encompass all of the world flags in the controlled area. To expand the controlled area, the player must build upwards and outwards. The radius of the controlled area (and thus the area the player may place blocks in) is determined using the height of the player’s structures perpendicular to the disk. If controlled areas of opposing players meet, a hole is formed in the disk in the overlapping region. The first player to possess a continuous area containing the world flags wins.

This game has unique gameplay, great graphics and beautiful classical music.

If you are an art student who loves to do puzzles, you’ll probably like this one.

Origami Shadows

Posted on Aug 11, 2008 11:33:37 AM

A friend of mine recommended an interesting online adventure game. It’s called Origami Shadows. This is what she wrote:

“if you like fate by numbers, you might be into origami shadows: its a metafiction, rather than point and click you follow a trail of bread crumbs by reading the story and following the links; sometimes there is a trick in the text

http://www.origamishadows.com/ (click metafiction to get started)

for example, a clue in the text tells you something, so you type the answer to the clue into the the html adress: say the answer to the clue is “good” you would right “good” as the last path in the address: http:www.blahblahblah/good

other times the clues are hidden: tab is your friend to find all the links

and ctrl a will select all the text to find hidden words, etc

its part novel/part game; this one is really good, sci fi/mystery elements to it: just keep following the links like following your way through a labyrinth

the premise is a guy wakes up to find a girl with amnesia taking a bath in his tub, but then she goes missing, and he needs to find her but his own memory is fragmented–it definitly has a philip K. dick feel to it

i remember when i played it it took like 36 hours to finish, but he has since
added videos, though the acting is low budget and lame the metafiction is amazing

he’s also added maps to it now (shadow folding), buy only refer to these if you get lost!!!”
