Introduction To The Meek Geek Video Game Blog…

Video Gamers Oasis

Hello there! My name is Jeremy. As you might have guessed, I’m nuts about Video Games. I’ll never forget the very first video game(s) I was exposed to. My brother-in-law’s PONG game from the late 70′s intrigued me; with the little white rectangles bouncing the little white blip to each other across the screen. At that time, the sound effects came from the Game Console itself, NOT from the TV. It was extremely stripped down by today’s standards, but back then, I played it with the same enthusiasm that the young man did playing PONG in that Diet Pepsi Commercial!

In the early 80′s my sister and brother-in-law bought an early Atari. It was LOADS of fun! It had a Race Car game, a Chess Game (which my brother-in-law loved to play), Space Invaders, and of course, PacMan. Each Video Game Cartridge was intoxicatingly addictave, but especially Space Invaders and PacMan. I’ll never forget how my Sister introduced Space Invaders to me. She explained I played the little green turrets on the ground, and I had to shoot the “monsters” that kept coming closer and closer. From time to time, a UFO would hover over and give me extra points if I was skillful enough to bullseye it.
PacMan was the most fun, with it’s delightful simplicity that is timeless to this day! I’ll never forget how it compared with the Arcade version — the PacMan would go eh-eh-eh-eh! in the Atari Console, and the PacMan in the Arcade game would go waka-waka-waka-waka! I loved out-maneuvering those nasty rainbow coloured ghosts, while hating being devoured. Getting major payback by eating the Power Pellot was a highlight of the game.

Later on in the 80′s my father introduced me to The Colecovision, truly a step above Atari in the Video Game System Hierarchy. I remember seeing it played for the first time by him, he was playing Space Fury – with the nasty green cyclopian alien commander taunting him. The variety and complexity of the games made the hours melt away.
I finally got on the bandwagon and purchased a Nintendo Entertainment System with my savings and allowance. Boy! Did that Game System blow me away! Never before did I feel so bedazzled by a moustached Italian Plumber stomping on evil mushroom creatures, ferocious Turtle Soldiers, taking Enhancing Power-Ups and Exploring Pipes. Super Mario Bros. was my first Nintendo Game, and I was love struck at first play!
Of course, there were countless other games I played on the NES, as well as many other different Consoles including Sega, and I continued to play Arcade games, as well to play games on my PC. They became more and more sophisticated as time went on.
Video Games in it’s many Genres has the same power that a good book, comic book, movie or even music album has — to whisk you away to another realm. A realm of the imagination. A realm where the improbable is possible, and the impossible is probable. A realm where YOU are the hero, and it’s YOUR job to save the Princess.
That’s one of the strongest reasons why I love to play Video Games. Everyone has their passion. To me, Video Games, are one of my strongest ones. I love to play Video Games, learn more about them and I love to talk about Video Games.
That’s what I would like to do at this Blog. I would like this Blog to be a center for great Gaming Minds to meet to share interests, tips, tricks and ideas.

Welcome to my Blog. I hope you find the possibilities as exciting as I do!

Thanks for your support!

Super Mario 3 : Mario Forever Download

Our Review For Super Mario 3 : Mario Forever

Review Written By Rekall

Reviewer Rating: 100%

Super Mario 3 : Mario Forever Screen ShotSuper Mario 3 : Mario Forever is really a fantastic mario remake created with Multimedia Fusion.

Once again you strap on your wrench and hardhat and guide the chubby plumber through many skilfully made levels. The diversity of the levels is very impressive. You will have to get through levels ranging from underwater caverns to levels filled with fiery lava.

I found the controls a little tricky to get into. The physics aren’t exactly the same as in other mario games, but you’ll get used to it in no time at all.

This clone really re-creates all the magic from the original Mario games and I have to take my hat off to the Buziol Games team for such an excellent game.

Starting Today: Freeware Game Download Of The Day

Posted on Jun 25, 2008 08:34:57 PM

Even though I may not always have an interesting news item or Vlog entry, every day I will make a special effort to share with you a freeware game that I enjoy so much that I would like you to download and play – FOR FREE! No Demos…No Shareware! FREE! (If you are able to donate to the special game websites or game makers, feel free to do so.)

It should also be noted, that I only recommend Freeware Games that I’ve played personally myself. I will NOT recommend you a Virus or Bug-Infected game, or simply a game that sucks. In my honest opinion, these freeware games ROCK!

Why don’t you give it try?

My first recommendation for today:

Hacker

“Hacker will probably dazzle you beyond what any other Tetris game has done in the past!”
